1 c. shortening, butter-flavored
1 c. butter, room temperature
2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 - 12 oz. packages chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375. Cream together shortening, butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Mix in all remaining ingredients, stirring in chocolate chips. Shape into 1 inch balls and bake on a greased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. Makes 12 dozen.

The first thing out of Rick's mouth after eating these cookies was, "Those are good cookies!" He said he thinks they are better than the "regular" cchip cookies I make. Thanks for the recipe! The recipe makes a lot of cookies, so I froze some cookie dough balls for another day. Yum!
