Navajo Taco

Navajo Bread:
4-5 cups flour
1 tsp. Salt
½ cup instant dry milk powder
2 cups warm water
3 ½ tsp. Baking powder

Filling:
1 can pinto beans
¾ tsp. Garlic salt
1 ½ lbs. Lean ground beef
Chopped onions
Grated cheddar cheese
Lettuce
Salsa

Mix dry ingredients for the Navajo bread with the water. Knead dough lightly; cover and let rest 15 minutes. Heat 1-inch oil in a 10” skillet. Divide dough into 8 balls--pat each dough ball into a thin 8” shell—brown on both sides.

Brown ground beef and drain. Add beans and garlic salt. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Spread on fry bread. Top with lettuce, onions grated cheese and salsa.
