Vegetable Burger Soup

1/2 lb. ground beef
2 c. water
1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 pkg. frozen (10 oz.) mixed vegetables
1/2 c. dry onion soup mix
Salt to taste

In large saucepan, brown meat. Drain off fat. Stir in water and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Serve with crisp French bread wedges or crackers. Serves 6 to 8.
