Centerville Caramel Brownies

50 Kraft caramels
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/3 c. evaporated milk
8 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. margarine
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk in microwave. Stir well. In large bowl, combine cake mix, margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and chopped nuts. Stir until dough holds together. Press half of dough into greased and floured 9 X 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven. Gently pour caramel over hot cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel. Crumble remaining dough over top of chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before cutting.
