Easy Beef Stroganoff

1 1/2 lbs. Round steak, cut into strips
1/4 c. butter
2 c. canned mushrooms
1/2 c. chopped onion
dash pepper
1 can beef consomme
1 c. sour cream
2 1/2 TBS. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Rice of noodles

Brown steak in the butter and add onions. Let simmer for 30 minutes. Add consomme and heat to a boil. Mix flour with a little bit of water and thicken the meat and broth. Add mushrooms. Stir until thick. Add sour cream just before serving. Serve over rice and noodles. (I’ve also substituted beef broth for the consomme).
